Prostate Cancer Awareness

We had just wrapped up September, 2015, as Prostate Cancer Month. Prostate cancer affects the lives of our fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers.

According to the American Urology Association statistics, 1 in 3 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 5 African-American men.

President Obama by presidential proclamation made September, 2015, officially as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

While the exact causes of prostate cancer remain unknown, medical research has identified well-established risk factors with which men should be familiar, such as age, family history, and race. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among American men. More than 220,000 Americans will be diagnosed with it in 2015. With each diagnosis comes pain, suffering, and heartaches, and for too many it leads to extreme hardship and unimaginable loss.

By working to raise awareness of prostate cancer, men can make more informed decisions about their health, including choices which may help prevent cancer. The usual suspects are not smoking, healthy diets, weight, accompanied by regular exercises.

At Fannypants, we pitched in by introducing for first time, a new men’s line of underwear, to help with bladder leaks as patients recover from side effects of prostate cancer. Please visit our men’s line at
