One recent study was published on Pub Med, which involved 968 women aged 38 to 46 years old were enrolled in a computer assisted telephone interview, in order to evaluate urinary, medical and mental health issues. The study revealed there may be an association between stress and urgency urinary incontinence and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The results of the study revealed that 191 participants (approximately 19 percent) reported urgency and mixed urinary incontinence symptoms and a little over 18 percent of the study group had symptoms of stress urinary incontinence. Post-traumatic stress disorder was associated with urgency/ mixed urinary incontinence, but stress urinary incontinence was NOT associated with post-traumatic stress disorder.
